The city Nakodar, also called the Land of Peers and Fakirs (saints and sages). Nakodar literally meaning - ‘no other door like this one’ - the place where the All-Knowing Enlightened souls (Brahmgyanis) took birth and adorned this earth. The incident took place before Independence. A sage, Baba Shere Shah ji, came to Punjab from Pakistan, who chose the land of Nakodar, as his abode. He liked to live only in the forests and other secluded places. Baba Ji generally dissuaded people from coming to him so that his worship could go on unhampered; sometimes, he used to even throw small stones so that people, taking him to be a madman and did not come near to him. He spent most of his time in the worship of God and he kept reading the holy book Heer, by Waris Shah.
There lived in the city a family of zaildaars, who was always eager to serve the pirs and fakirs. Once, a fakir came to their home, who they served wholeheartedly. The fakir, pleased with their service and said to them: “Ask whatsoever you desire.” They said “God has given us everything; all we desire is God’s Name”. ਨਕੋਦਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਰਾਂ ਫ਼ਕ਼ੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ. ਨ-ਕੋ-ਦਰ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਵਰਗਾ "ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਦਰ", ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਗ ਲੱਗ ਗਏ. ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਤੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਇੱਕ ਫ਼ਕ਼ੀਰ ਬਾਬਾ ਸ਼ੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਆਏ. ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਨਕੋਦਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ, ਜੋ ਵੀਰਾਨਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਸੀ. ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਦੇ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਬਾਦਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਘਨ ਨਾ ਪਵੇ, ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਕਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਵੀ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਗਲ ਸਮਝਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਨਾ ਆਉਣ. ਓਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਤਰ ਵਕ਼ਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਇਬਾਦਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੀਰ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸੀ |
ਨਕੋਦਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਜੈਲਦਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੀ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਪੀਰਾਂ ਫ਼ਕ਼ੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਸਦਾ ਤਤਪਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸੀ. ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਫ਼ਕ਼ੀਰ ਆਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਕ਼ੀਰ ਨੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ "ਮਾਂਗੋ ਜੋ ਮਾਂਗਨਾ ਚਾਹੋ" ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸਬ ਕੁੱਛ ਹੈ ਬਸ ਇੱਕ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਚਾਹਿਦਾ, ਫ਼ਕ਼ੀਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ "ਏਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਲਕੀ ਦੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੇਨੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਂਗੇ". ਉਸ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਲਦ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਸਾਗਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਮੁਰਾਦ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ. ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਹੋਣੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਭਰਾ ਸੀ, ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਸਭਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੇ ਸੀ, ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਲਿਖਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਜ਼ਮਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ

It is a Sufi paradise located in Jalandhar District in Nakodar and is only 24&#;km away from Jalandhar City and 16 km from Kala Sanghian &#;km away from Amritsar . This pilgrimage site is a Sufi paradise which is very peaceful. The tomb is built in a structural way and photographs of Baba Murad Shah Ji are displayed at a couple of places which look beautiful. The dargah of Baba Murad Shah ji after the death of Sai Laddi Shah Ji was offered to the famous Punjabi singer, Mr. Gurdas Maan Ji who has remained as a sewadaar. Various singers perform at this powerful place and also there is a mela (fair) celebrated regularly in Memory of Baba Murad Shah Ji and Sai Ghulam (Laddi) Shah Ji.[1]
Gurdas Maan is an ardent follower of Sai Laddi Shah Ji and also a frequent visitor. Sai Ji loved Gurdas Maan very much.
