EFF MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi resigned from Parliament on Thursday following months of speculation about his future in the party and his notable absence from its third elective congress, held in Johannesburg last month.
Although likely, he has not confirmed whether he has also quit the party.
The EFF has faced numerous uphill battles recently, including poor support at the polls last year and an exodus of high-ranking leaders, such as Floyd Shivambu and Dali Mpofu, to the newly-formed MK Party.

The news was confirmed by the EFF&#;s spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys on Thursday morning.
&#;The EFF has received the voluntary resignations of fighter Yazini Tetyana and fighter Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi as representatives of the EFF in the Parliament of South Africa,&#; the party&#;s statement read.
The voluntary requests to be released from deployment, which were sent to the secretary-general of the EFF [Marshall Dlamini] consecutively and within days of each other, expressed gratitude to the EFF for the opportunity to serve the organisation and the people of South Africa.
