Born on the shore of a small Bulgarian town, nature has always been part of Elina Kechicheva’s life. Even if she’s been living in Paris for 25 years, her Slavic soul still echoes through her photography where nature and emotions are deeply entangled. Freedom, delicateness and naturalness forcefully emanate from her work.
Since being discovered at The Hyeres festival by Patrick Remi and Michel Mallard, she has collaborated with the most renowned magazines such as various editions of Vogue, Numero, SSAW, Vanity Fair, etc.
Unapologetically reclaiming the vibrant poetic universe at the core of her images, Elina has exhibited her work worldwide and collaborated with the biggest fashion houses. The pureness she captured in the latest DIOR Haute Couture campaign is part of her DNA.
She is currently working on her next exhibition on a pots-pandemic return to nature, elemental beauty and aesthetics.

Elina Kechicheva is a Bulgarian photographer based in Paris. Her career was started by the participation in prestigious Festival international de mode et de photographie of Hyères followed by publication in the book of the Parisian art director Patrick Remy "Paradise". As a fashion photographer, she has worked for publications such as Vogue Numéro and many others. Elina Kechicheva collaborated with Dior on their SS campaign, for which received the awards for the best “Image de Luxe”and “Photo pour la luxe” from ACDA annual competition in June She created portrait photographs of personalities such as The Weeknd, Michael Cimino, Amy Winehouse, Pharrell Williams Marisa Berenson, Cat Power, Kate Bosworth, Eva Green, Evan Rachel Wood and Diane Kruger amongst others. Elina Kechicheva's artistic work has been exhibited in Paris, Berlin, New York and Sofia. In she wrote and directed short movie with the participation of Zoé le Ber, Solene Hebert and Priscilla de la Forcade named "3 Soeurs" which debuted in Nowness and was later selected for Berlin Fashion Film Festival. Biographie
Née en Bulgarie dans une famille de la bourgeoisie intellectuelle, Elina Kechicheva (46 ans) a découvert la photographie en empruntant l’appareil de son mari, lui-même photographe. C’était il y a vingt ans. Autodidacte, elle se sent libre de toute référence et n’a, dit-elle, « ni mentor ni maître », même si elle admire les grands photographes classiques David Bailey, Richard Avedon et Irving Penn.
Sa carrière de photographe commence en , lors de sa participation au Festival international de mode et de photographie d’Hyères où, remarquée par le directeur artistique Patrick Rémy, elle publie ses premières photos dans son ouvrage Paradise. Installée à Paris depuis , elle travaille notamment pour les magazines Vogue, Numéro Tokyo, VMan, WKorea,Marie-Claire, mais aussi pour la maison Dior, avec des images qui lui vaudront le prix de la Meilleure Image de mode pour la campagne « SS ». With the vast amount of fashion magazines readily available as digital editions these days we are literally being flooded with fashion images on a daily basis. The frustrating thing about this is that there only seems to be a handful of photographers (or photographer duos) whose work makes up for the majority of the published images. That surely is one of the reasons many fashion editorials nowadays come across as repetitive, unimaginative and forgettable. I enjoy the work of a lot of the big guns in fashion photography, but I still cannot help but wonder why some talented photographers rarely ever get booked for blue chip magazines?
One of the photographers whose work has stood out to me a lot lately is Elina Kechicheva's. You won't find her work in any of the Vogues or Elles of this world. The publications she seems to somewhat regularly shoot for are the various editions of Marie Claire. Not really the number one source you would check for striking, unique, different fashion photography (although they also use Jacques Olivar a lot, another favorite fashion photographer of mine).
