They will also have the opportunity to perform their winning monologue for Founding Artistic Director John Bell, Artistic Director Peter Evans, and Bell Shakespeare artists, receiving feedback and mentoring.

All auditioning students will undertake a minute, one-on-one Workshop Audition where they will work directly with a Bell Shakespeare artist.

Hamlet, unlike any other text of its kind, has stood the test of time because of its remarkably modern exploration of the deep concerns of humanity.

Despite this, the play is very much an object of its time and reflects a period of great change and uncertainty. Hamlet was written and performed in the final years of Queen Elizabeth I’s reign.
