Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Anat grew up with musical siblings; her older brother, Yuval, is himself asaxophonist of note, and her younger brother, Avishai, is one of New York’s busiest trumpeters. Shebegan clarinet studies at age 12 and played jazz on clarinet for the first time in her Jaffa conservatory’sDixieland band. At 16 she joined the school’s big band and learned to play the tenor saxophone. Thesame year, Anat entered the prestigious “Thelma Yelin” High School for the Arts, where she majored injazz. After graduation, she discharged her mandatory Israeli military service duty from ,playing tenor saxophone in the Israeli Air Force band.

Biography
Anat Cohen is an internationally acclaimed jazz clarinetist and saxophonist, known for her virtuosity and dynamic performances. Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Cohen grew up in a musical family and was encouraged to pursue her passion for music from a young age. She began playing the clarinet at the age of 12, and later attended the prestigious Thelma Yellin High School for the Arts. After completing her mandatory military service in the Israeli Army Band, Cohen moved to the United States to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she honed her skills in jazz and improvisation. Upon graduation, she relocated to New York City, quickly establishing herself in the vibrant jazz scene. Cohen has released numerous albums as a bandleader, earning critical acclaim and multiple awards, including several &#;Clarinetist of the Year&#; accolades from the Jazz Journalists Association. Her music spans various genres, incorporating elements of Brazilian choro, Argentine tango, and Middle Eastern melodies, reflecting her diverse cultural influences.
